October 21, 1989 is an important date in the history of Uzbekistan. The Uzbek language was given the status of a state language. One of the criteria determining the independence and freedom of the country is its own language. This day, when the century-old dream of the Uzbek people came true. Obtaining the state status of the Uzbek language enabled citizens to get acquainted with the works of the great thinkers of our ancestors. In this regard, on October 19, 2017, an event was held on the theme “Language is basis for development and prosperity of nation” with the participation of students of treatment, medico-prophylactic and higher nursing faculties, deputy deans in culture, leaders of the youth union, gifted students, teachers and professors.
Deputy Chairman of the Central Council of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan U. Vafayev, Vice-Rector for Spiritual and Educational Work T.A. Bobomuratov, editor of the newspaper “Voice of Uzbekistan” S. Ostonov, member of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan, poet Rustam Musurmon, head of the department of the central committee of the PDP of Uzbekistan N. Yuldasheva, actress of the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater G. Ibrokhimbekova were attended. They noted the important role of obtaining the state status of the Uzbek language.
From the guests S.Ostonov, in his speech noted the important role of the PDP of Uzbekistan in strengthening the legal basis of the socio-political status of the Uzbek language and talked about the seminar on the topic “Proper use of the words of the Uzbek language.” And also, he shared his views on how to respectfully have to treat our native language, use the right words in Uzbek and respect other languages. One of the guests of honor, the poet Rustam Musurman, read poems that glorified the beauty and charm of our language. Gulchehra Ibragimbekova, Honored Artist of our country, also made a big contribution to the event with her warm words about the Uzbek language. After that, students of the Tashkent Medical Academy told about examples of poetry. In the end, the associate professor of the department of forensic medicine TMA Beknazarov Shakir Yuldashevich expressed gratitude to visitors, guests and participants for their participation.
