Visit of the Professor V.L.Popov to the Tashkent Medical Academy

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation in the field of medical education and science between the Tashkent Medical Academy and the First St. Petersburg Medical University named after Academician I.P. Pavlov, a visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan by Professor Vyacheslav Leonidovich Popov was organized in period of time from 25 till 30 September, 2017.

For reference: The first St. Petersburg State Medical University named after Academician I.P. Pavlov is one of the leading medical universities in the Russian Federation. The structure of the university includes 75 profile departments. Annually more than 5000 students study at the university. The university clinic has the status of a federal medical institution and accepts more than 10,000 patients a year.

The purpose of the visit of Professor Popov V.L. was the provision of methodological assistance and exchange of experience in organizing the educational process at the Tashkent Medical Academy.

Within the framework of the visit of the Russian professor, on the basis of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Medical Law of the Tashkent Medical Academy meetings with the faculty of the Academy and other medical higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan were held, master classes and lectures on the topic “Craniocerebral trauma” “Problems of postgraduate training of qualified specialists – forensic experts”, “Professional offenses of medical workers”, “Explosive trauma” and others.

Within the framework of this visit, Professor Popov V.L. was also acquainted with the cultural and historical sights of the Republic of Uzbekistan and was impressed with the rich heritage of the country.

As a result of the visit, the Russian professor noted the high level of training of the medical staff of the Academy, as well as the positive experience of bilateral cooperation and the consistent nature of the development of connections between the specialists of the Tashkent Medical Academy and the First St. Petersburg Medical University named after Academician I.P. Pavlov.

The organization of the visit of Professor V.L. Popov and the holding of meetings, master classes and lectures, promoted the possibility of upgrading the skills and professional skills of medical specialists and faculty of the Tashkent Medical Academy and other medical educational institutions, and also allowed to exchange experiences and learn modern international achievements in the field of forensic medicine.
