In pursuance of the Agreement on cooperation on scientific and educational cooperation between the Tashkent Medical Academy and the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, signed within the Russian-Uzbek Educational Forum, organized on the initiative of the Heads of two countries, on February 27, 2019 year, a solemn meeting on on the occasion of the establishment of the Inter-University Cooperation Center of TMA and Sechenov University on the basis of the Tashkent Medical Academy was held.
The solemn meeting was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, heads of medical universities and Republican specialized medical centers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
A delegation from Sechenov University headed by its rector, academician P.V. Glybochko, who is also the Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Medical and Pharmaceutical Universities of Russia, arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in this event, which is highly significant for all medical education system.
During the meeting, the Heads of TMA and Sechenov University presented the experience of bilateral cooperation between TMA and Sechenov University, two leading medical universities of Russia and Uzbekistan, respectively, as well as specific activities to be implemented by the Inter-University Cooperation Center.
The result of discussions by all participants of the meeting on the relevance of the development of cooperation in the field of higher medical education was the official signing by the rectors of the Tashkent Medical Academy and the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov “Regulations on the Inter-University Cooperation Center of TMA and Sechenov University”
The objectives of the Inter-University Cooperation Center is the practical implementation of joint educational programs (master’s, residency, doctoral studies), assistance in conducting scientific and practical activities, ensuring cooperation between two universities in the field of e-education, conducting exchange programs, coordinating the operational exchange of information between the two universities.
The center will become a platform for the exchange of innovative and technological ideas in the field of healthcare between professors, young scientists and students of two universities, facilitating the involvement of leading specialists of the Sechenov University in the educational process of TMA, realizing all areas of bilateral cooperation.
The center will be the point of connection between the TMA and Sechenov University, through which at any time operational communication can be established between representatives of two universities.
Further, the delegation of the Sechenov University visited TMA and got acquainted with the created Inter-University Cooperation Center, and also took part in the meeting of the TMA Academic Council.
On the initiative of the rector of the Tashkent Medical Academy, Professor L.Tuychiev, for his high personal contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation and improvement of higher medical education, by the decision of the Academic Council of TMA, the Rector of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M.Sechenov, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences P.V.Glybochko was awarded the title «Honorary Professor of the Tashkent Medical Academy ».
The implementation of such projects serves as the basis for improving the educational system and this first practical step, like the creation of the Inter-University Cooperation Center of TMA and Sechenov University, contributes to the comprehensive improvement of the quality of higher medical education.
