On November 7, 2019, the Tashkent Medical Academy (TMA) will host the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum between TMA and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This grand event will be attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the heads of the CDC from Atlanta (USA).
The Ceremony, which will be held on November 7, is the first such event in Central Asia to sign a memorandum between the CDC and the University, in this case, the Tashkent Medical Academy.
The first university to become an official partner and to sign the Memorandum with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the U.S. Department of Health and signatory the Memorandum was the Tashkent Medical Academy of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.
To participate in this historic event, with salutatorian speeches and congratulations to the team and students of TMA will take the floor:
Mr. D. Rosenblum, U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Uzbekistan;
B. Yusupaliyev, First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
Professor V. Kapil, Associate Director for Science at the CDC (Atlanta, USA);
– Heads of the State Inspectorate of Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The established partnership between TMA and CDC will allow of:
– Expanding cooperation in the field of medical education and science with leading U.S. universities and medical centers and establishing, with the assistance of the CDC, partnerships with the best scientific and research institutions in the USA;
– creating new and improving existing curricula by the developing of specifically-based educational modules and disciplines that meet advanced international standards;
– increasing the recognition, international acknowledgement and citing of the results of scientific papers and publications, written by research fellows and the academic staff of TMA by introducing innovative principles and mechanisms for the implementation of scientific works based on the experience and practice of U.S. scientists;
– improving the quality of training and educational process of the medical academy by improving the scientific potential of faculty and improving the integration of medical science into clinical practice;
– developing mechanisms for organizing the systematic publication of articles by the academic staff, researchers, doctoral students and students of master’s and bachelor’s degree of TMA in authoritative scientific journals of the United States with a high impact factor;
– Implementation of measures to the step-by-step inclusion of the university journal of TMA into the international database of well-recognized scientific publications;
– promoting the representation of the Tashkent Medical Academy at the international level, particularly in the United States, the establishment of the Academy as the leading medical university of Central Asia with extensive contacts with the world’s top-level scientific centers.
