The UI GreenMetric ranking is assessed based on the following key criteria:

1. Campus Sustainability (Setting and Infrastructure) – The environmental compatibility of the campus and the proportion of green areas.
2. Energy and Climate Change – Efforts to optimize energy consumption, use renewable energy sources, and reduce the carbon footprint.
3. Waste Management – Measures for recycling waste, managing hazardous waste, and reducing overall waste.
4. Water Management – Optimization of water usage and water recycling systems.
5. Transportation System – Sustainable transport options, reducing car usage, and promoting environmentally friendly modes of transportation.
6. Education and Research – The share of educational programs and scientific research related to sustainability.
