Tashkent State Medical University (TSMU) had the honor of hosting representatives from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Harvard University (USA) during an official visit.
The delegation was welcomed by Professor Shukhrat Boymuradov, Rector of TSMU. The meeting brought together university leadership, faculty members, and members of the foreign delegation to discuss promising opportunities for international collaboration.
Discussions focused on advancing cooperation in the field of oncology, with particular attention to cancer prevention, treatment, and the initiation of joint scientific research projects.
Background information: Established in 1947, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a world-renowned center specializing in the treatment of cancer in both adults and children, as well as conducting pioneering research in oncology. Its mission is to improve the lives of patients affected by cancer through research, clinical care, education, and prevention. The Institute employs over 4,000 staff members and provides care to more than 300,000 patients annually. Over the years, two Nobel Prize laureates have worked within the institute’s ranks.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides expressed their commitment to expanding future cooperation and implementing joint scientific projects aimed at improving cancer care and research.
