On 4 November, the delegation visited the university’s second campus, where the conference program continued. After the lunch break, the participants were acquainted with the teaching facilities of the second and third campuses, including their lecture halls and training rooms.


In the second half of the day, at the conclusion of the conference, the participants were awarded certificates.

Afterwards, the project participants departed for Bishkek to attend the “International Days – Global Perspectives in Nutrition & Dietetics Education” events.


The event commenced on 5 November at the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) with a welcoming address delivered by Rector Dr. Stalbek Akhunbaev.

Following the opening remarks, Dr. Manuela Konrad and Daniela Grach presented their lecture entitled “European Standards in Nutrition & Dietetics Programs.”

After the presentation, a Panel Discussion on “Regional Challenges and Solutions” was held among the project participants.

6 November was designated as “Innovation and Future Directions Day.”
As part of the program, a series of Master Classes were conducted:

  • Session A: Evidence-Based Nutrition Practice — delivered by Dr. Indrani Kalkan;
  • Session B: Digital Tools in Nutrition Education — presented by Theresa Draxler;
  • Session C: Community Nutrition Programs — led by Dr. Arailym Beisbekova.

In the second half of the day, a lecture prepared by the staff of Tashkent State Medical University entitled “Laboratory Equipment Utilization: Selected Examples” was delivered by Oybek Eshmamatov. In this presentation, information was provided on the utilization of the equipment procured for Tashkent State Medical University within the framework of the project.

 

Afterwards, a Career Opportunities Panel was held, covering the following topics:

Professional Pathways in N&D: Industry representatives, clinical nutritionists, and researchers;

Q&A with students;

Future regional cooperation opportunities;

Joint research initiatives;

Student exchange possibilities.
