1. Old and Rich History

Tashkent Medical Academy was founded in 1919 as a highly educated medical institution that trained treated doctors, pharmacists, and hygienic specialists. TMA is one of the unique and historic Medical institution in Central Asia. As the oldest university in Central Asia’s medical world, it can lay claim to more than 1 century of continuous existence. Currently TMA includes 3 regional branches (Urgench, Ferghana and Termez) which ensure the high quality of educational scientific and clinical activities.

2. Accreditation

TMA is the leading medical university in the Republic of Uzbekistan, it holds first place in the Ranking of the Best Medical Universities of the country and 10th place among all universities of Uzbekistan. In 2024 year 19 educational programs of TMA have passed accreditation in the IAAR which contributes to the achievement of the national goal – increasing the competitiveness of the graduates and the export potential growth of the educational sector.

3. Educational programs

There are six different multidisciplinary faculties offering a comprehensive education within the TMA specialization:
1. Treatment No. 1 and 2;
2. Pediatrics, dentistry, medical-pedagogy of folk medicine and sign interpreting;
3. Medical-prophylactic and public health, ecology and environmental protection and chemistry;
4. Pharmacy, management, medical biology, biomedical engineering and nurse with higher education;
5. Faculty of Advanced Studies;
6. International faculties are included.

4. Modern Campus

Access to advanced laboratories, simulation centers, and clinical training facilities equipped with the latest technology and everything necessary for the productive training of future doctors. Information resource center, that created on the basis of the oldest medical library of Central Asia and nowadays it is the largest medical information center in Republic of Uzbekistan. Moreover, IRC every year increases its reserve of medical books in all 3 languages (Uzbek, Russian and Uzbek). Immerse yourself in a learning environment that mirrors real-world medical practice. Sports are important for students’ growth, and TMA offers a number of indoor and outdoor facilities for basketball, football, gymnasiums, and other activities in sport complexes, corresponding to international Olympic standards.
