In patients with severe mental disorders more often than in mentally healthy women, preterm labor and malnutrition of the newborn are diagnosed. The main obstetric complications in patients with schizophrenia, atypical psychosis and mood disorders are hypertensive syndromes, the threat of premature birth and miscarriage.
