The Tashkent Medical Academy signed an Agreement on the implementation of a joint educational program in the specialty “General Medicine” with the Kazan State Medical University.

Within the cooperation of the Tashkent Medical Academy (TMA) and the Kazan State Medical University (KSMU), on May 30, 2019, the Rector of TMA Professor L.Tuychiev visited KSMU.

During the visit, a meeting on the implementation of a joint program was held with the rector of KSMU, Professor A.Sozinov and representatives of KSMU management involved in the development of a joint educational program, and also there was organized visit to the clinical base, departments and simulation center of the university.

The outcome of this visit was the signing of the Agreement on the implementation of a joint educational program in the specialty “General Medicine” and the approval of a joint curriculum.

For reference: Kazan State Medical University is historically one of the leading higher medical schools in Russia. The university was founded in 1814 and today it is among the top three medical universities in Russia. Educational programs of KSMU are accredited by the European Agency for Quality Assurance of Education. KSMU is one of the leaders of scientific and publication activity among all universities in Russia. KSMU is more than 6000 students, 7 areas of specialty, 44 areas of residency, 39 areas of graduate school.

The beginning of the implementation of the joint educational program is planned in 2019.

Admission to the program will be organized both at the TMA and at KSMU. The duration of training is 6 years, 3 years in each of the partner universities. Upon completion of training, graduates receive two diplomas (diploma of TMA and diploma of KSMU).

In the process of learning, visits of teachers from two universities will be widely organized to attract to the educational activities of the partner university, internships at the partner university will be held on an ongoing basis, students of the joint educational program will be provided with access to electronic educational environment and library resources of KSMU.
