The pandemic of the new coronavirus infection, which affected all countries of the planet in 2020, clearly showed the priority directions for the development of the healthcare system.
Today, when medical professionals around the world are bravely fighting COVID-19, the well-being, health and lives of people depend on their level of education, professional skills and high medical qualifications.
In this difficult period for the health care systems of all countries, it is the cooperation between medical specialists, partnership and prompt exchange of the latest information and knowledge, the use of the best international experience and practice in everyday work, are the key achievements in providing the population with high-quality medical care.
In order to provide students of medical universities in Uzbekistan with the educational process, in accordance with advanced international standards and based on the practice of the best universities in Europe, the Tashkent Medical Academy, in cooperation with Vilnius University and the Association of European Medical Schools, with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), has developed a new modern course “Management of the educational process according to the credit-modular training system”.
For reference: In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 8, 2020 No. PD-5847 “On approval of the Concept for the development of the higher education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030”, a phased transfer of the educational process of higher educational institutions of the country to a credit-modular system is provided.
In February 2020, the Tashkent Medical Academy received international recognition and was the first among all medical universities in the country to be officially accepted as a full member of the Association of European Medical Schools (https://tma.uz/ru/2020/02/25/tashkentskaya-meditsinskaya-akademiya-poluchila-mezhdunarodnoe-priznanie/), and today, developed by the TMA in cooperation with the Vilnius University and the Association, the international course starts within the walls of the academy.
The creation of this course and its implementation on the basis of the Tashkent Medical Academy became possible thanks to the GIZ project “Management of advanced medical technologies in Uzbekistan”, of which TMA is a participant. Within the framework of the GIZ project at TMA in 2020, a lot of work has already been done to create and equip robotic simulators and advanced simulation equipment (worth more than half a million euros) of the Innovation Center for Advanced Medical Technologies and the international course that starts today is another practical step in promoting the German society international cooperation of the Tashkent Medical Academy in improving the quality of higher medical education in Uzbekistan.
Heads of the universities of the course developers – Tashkent Medical Academy and Vilnius University, the leadership of the German Society for International Cooperation, representatives of the European Regional Bureau of the World Health Organization, the Association of Medical Schools take part in the ceremony dedicated to the opening of the first international course on the management of the educational process on the credit-modular system. Europe, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Center for the Development of Professional Qualifications of Medical Workers.
The organizers of the educational process and the leading teaching staff of the Tashkent Medical Academy and the Center for the Development of Professional Qualifications of Medical Workers will be the first to be trained in this course in the online form, which will allow them to begin comprehensive work on adaptation and transfer of the educational process to credit modular system.
Today’s start at the TMA of the first international course in the management of the educational process according to the credit-modular system is an important stage in providing students of medical universities in Uzbekistan with the opportunity to receive highly qualified higher education that meets European criteria for medical education.
