Sweden-Uzbekistan cooperation in the field of medicine

On April 25, 2024, a meeting of the Health delegation of Uzbekistan in Sweden with the Minister of Health of this country was held. At the meeting, discussions were held on the development of mutual cooperation, improvement of the quality of training of medical personnel for family medical centers in the primary system, digitalization of medical education, digitalization of oncology diseases and their diagnosis, monitoring, and prevention of maternal and child deaths. During the negotiations, a round-table discussion was held on issues related to personnel training, improvement of doctor’s qualification, development of science. Sweden has always cooperated with Uzbekistan, and it was agreed to take the cooperation to a new level on the issues mentioned above by the minister.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited “AstraZenica” company and held negotiations with the management of this company and its factory. During the meeting, negotiations on oncology, cardiovascular diseases, immunology and production of anti-viral serum, cooperation with Uzbekistan’s pharmacluster, production of these vaccines and ensuring the safety of manufactured drugs were clarified. It was agreed that the leading scientists and specialists of this company will give lectures and cooperate in the fields of laboratory and pharmacy at the Tashkent Medical Academy.
