Visit of the leading orthopedist, Professor Pier Giorgio Vasina to the department of “Traumatology-orthopedics and MFS № 1” of the Tashkent Medical Academy.
On September 6-8, 2017, Professor Pierre Giorgio Vasin, a leading orthopedic traumatologist and specialist in surgical orthopedics (Italy), visited the Tashkent Medical Academy.
This meeting was organized within the framework of expansion and development of international cooperation of TMA in the field of medical education.
During this visit, together with TMA specialists, 44 patients with various pathologies and diseases of the musculoskeletal system were examined and 3 demonstration operations (master class) of patients with severe orthopedic pathology of the hip and knee joint were performed.
The Italian specialist during the operation shared his rich experience, paid attention to important and complex aspects of surgical intervention, answered the emerging questions of the faculty and masters of the Academy.
Also within the framework of the visit, Professor Pierre Giorgio Vasina gave a lecture on the topic “Orthopedic spine pathology, the relevance of this problem, the methods of osteosynthesis” and presented the students with examples of complex cases from clinical practice.
At the end of the lecture there were discussions and exchange of experience on topical issues of modern traumatology and orthopedics.
Carrying out similar scientific and practical events on the basis of medical educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan contributes to the improvement of the qualification of the teaching staff of institutions, familiarization of specialists and students of medical universities with advanced achievements in the world of medicine.
