On May 24, 2019, a seminar was held on traditional Korean medicine as part of the project “Center for Traditional Medicine of the Tashkent Medical Academy and the Institute of Korean Healthcare Industry Development (KHIDI)”
The leadership of the Republic of Uzbekistan pays priority attention to the development of the healthcare system of our country, the improvement of medical education and the qualitative improvement of medical care provided to the population. In the Action Strategy approved by the President of our country in five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, for the period 2017-2021, the main directions of development were identified, the fourth of which is devoted to the development of the social sphere. In pursuance of the Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-2956 of May 5, 2017 “On Measures to Improve Medical Education in the Republic of Uzbekistan” and No. PP-3968 of October 10, 2018 “On Measures to Streamline the Sphere of Traditional Medicine in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, November 2018, the Center for Traditional Medicine was established on the basis of the Tashkent Medical Academy in collaboration with the Korea Health Care Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) of the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea.
This Center contributes to the strengthening of scientific potential and the development of research in the field of the use of long-term developments and positive achievements of traditional medicine in modern practical health care. On the basis of the Center, students and teachers of the Academy, in close cooperation with Korean specialists, study and work to improve the quality of medical care.
Today, one of the results of the joint work done is the holding of the First Scientific and Practical Workshop on Traditional Oriental Medicine.
The aim of the seminar is to provide a broad overview of cooperation in the field of traditional medicine and the achievements of Korean traditional medicine in the treatment of various diseases, as well as a discussion of the leading experts of the two countries on how to integrate the scientifically based methods of traditional Eastern medicine into modern medicine.
During the upcoming event, there will be organized lectures on the introduction of traditional medicine into modern health care, innovative public health techniques based on traditional medicine, and master classes of leading specialists of the Republic of Korea in the field of traditional medicine will be held with the participation of patients with various neurological diseases and their consequences.
A delegation of the Republic of Korea, consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea, KHIDI and professors of the largest medical universities and Centers of Korea in the field of traditional Korean medicine, was invited to participate in this Seminar.
The most eminent professionals in the field of Korean traditional medicine, will give lectures for students of the academy and hold demonstration workshops on the treatment of complex diseases in which patients will also take part.
5 leading professors of the Republic of Korea using the example of patients from Uzbekistan will demonstrate the capabilities and achievements of traditional Korean medicine in treating the most complicated diseases. Especially for this, the most difficult cases of diseases were selected, which will be cured by Korean specialists during the seminar.
Such events help to improve the quality of medical care provided to the population, improve approaches in the training of medical personnel, study the experience of developing health care in foreign countries and integrate the best scientifically grounded traditional methods and practices based on many years of experience of eastern medicine in the educational and practical process of modern health care in Uzbekistan.
