On March 30, 2018, the administration of Tashkent medical Academy met with the delegation of Istanbul University of medical Sciences headed by Vice-rector Professor S. Penche.
For reference: Istanbul University of medical Sciences is the only specialized medical University in Turkey and one of the leading educational institutions in Europe.
The University was founded in 1903. Today, Istanbul University of medical Sciences has 7 faculties, 2 institutes, 2 medical schools and 1 school. Currently, the University has more than 5,400 students.
During the meeting, issues of expansion and development of relations between the two medical educational institutions, the possibility of joint scientific and educational activities, the exchange of teaching staff and students in the framework of international programs and bilateral cooperation were discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to begin active bilateral cooperation with the elaboration of the signing of the Memorandum of understanding.
Holding such meetings with representatives of leading foreign medical universities contributes to the expansion of cooperation in the field of medical education and further improvement of the educational process, curricula and programs based on the widespread use of the latest educational technologies and teaching methods, which is one of the most important tasks of further improvement and integrated development of the higher education system, provided by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “on measures for further development of higher education”.
