LEADERSHIP SKILLS FOR WOMEN IN SCIENCE AND EDUCATION

The Ministry of higher and secondary specialized education in cooperation with the British Council in Uzbekistan, conducts a training seminar at the Head scientific and methodological center with the participation of Alison Johns, the chief executive director of Advance HE in the UK, engaging in the process of management and leadership in higher education, as well as, consultant Jo Chaffer on the topic “Leadership skills for women in science and education” for leading women in higher education institutions.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chair of Women’s committee of Uzbekistan Tanzila Norbaeva, deputy minister of higher and secondary specialized education Uzokboy Begimkulov, deputy ambassador of Great Britain to Uzbekistan David Spires, director of the British Council in Uzbekistan Rachel Ireland, deputy of the legislative chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Dilorom Fayzieva, deputy director of the British Council in Uzbekistan Jamilya Gulyamova, Ellen Pugh, Alison Johns, Jo Chaffer (United Kingdom) discussed the role of women in all spheres of society, in particular in the field of education, experience in the field of leadership, opportunities and the prospects for its development in Uzbekistan and international arena.

The seminar-training includes leadership issues in higher education, features of leadership development in women in the field of education, interactive discussions and master classes are held by Alison Johns and Jo Chaffer on modern management models.
